Warning: personal rant to follow. Nothing is more upsetting to me than when people who dont have the education, knowledge or experience try to repair instruments and electronic musical equipment. IE guys who have never had any formal professional education and no training or apprenticeship. They buy some tools, typically the cheapest and not the right one for the job, and teach themselves what not to do on your prized possessions. Would you take your car to the mechanic who has no certification or education and instead of using a caliper to measure spark plug gap the guy pulls out a yard stick?! Guys, because you own a soldering gun and can pull tubes from a socket please dont think you are an electronic repair tech. That would imply an understanding of electron flow and the physics behind whats happening. Or just keep on pissing off clients and creating more job security for me :)
