Warning: shocking and disgusting video. Illustrative of what cops endure on a regular basis from the very people they are sworn to serve and protect. The future of the country is looking very bleak. These cops showed TREMENDOUS restraint. 30 years ago, the Task Force would have responded in force with riot sticks, paddy wagons and helmets. This would have been over quickly with many arrests and many serious injuries to the protesters. The moron shouting SMDwould have been subdued vigorously( he should be identified by the best detectives in the world and locked up for disorderly conduct, obstruction of governmental administration and incitement of riot). After the initial contact with the Task Force, most of the protesters would have fled, not wanting any part of what was happening. The paddy wagons would be filled to capacity and those arrested would be prosecuted to the hilt. Times have certainly changed. On the one hand I am extremely proud of these young cops. On the other hand, I am extremely worried for their personal safety in these troubling times. This young Sergeant should be commended for his leadership.
