Warning-soap box post that we seem to repeat about twice a year...feel free share it with your running peeps as we know that our RFF community who follow this page already know this. When racing, wear a bib bearing your name, not that of a friend or stranger. If you really want to run the race and cant find a bib legitimately, volunteer and run a different race under your own name. You may think that your decision is inconsequential because you are just one of several thousand, but it is not. Race directors account for a no show rate when planning, which means less course support for those legitimately running. Your fake result alters the results for everyone in your age group, your presence takes the energy of a volunteer who should be supporting a legitimate runner, and your decision can cause you and the bib donor to be disqualified from future races. If you must, for whatever reason, bandit a race in spite of these factors, remove your timing chip and bring your own water.
