Warning to Parents! A friend of mine and her young son were stopped on the street last week by a young man who demanded to know why her son wasnt in school. Only after replying that she didnt respond to strangers on the street did the young man flash a card at her to identify himself as an attendance officer for the council and then threatened her with a fixed penalty fine. The man was accompanied by a Police officer, possibly a Community Police officer. Her son had a high temperature and had been physically sick that morning, which means that he should not return to school for 48 hours. It was the first day of school that he had missed this year. After taking her other son to school she had to take her sick son with her to Aldi to buy essentials. My friend felt threatened by the incident and her son was upset by it. Particularly when both officers stood and watched her return to her car. Im shocked that the council is employing someone to harass people on the street like this and that they are also wasting the time of a Police officer to do so. Does anyone else have any experience of this?
