Warrego Highway and Brisbane Valley intersection upgrade Warrego Highway and Brisbane Valley Highway intersection upgrade – Project update and night works In August, the Tom Fountain Overpass was opened to traffic. The new overpass is now providing a safer journey for cross-highway traffic and more efficient travel along the main highway lanes. Work has been progressing on the final stages of the project including the construction of the new on-ramp to the Warrego Highway eastbound and local service road adjacent to the Brisbane Valley Highway. Due to inclement weather conditions, asphalt works were delayed in August and will now be carried out at night (Monday to Friday) during September on the Warrego Highway in both directions to complete the final road surface. These works will involve minor traffic disruption with traffic control in place and lane closures as required. In late September 2014, the new on-ramp to the Warrego Highway eastbound will be opened to traffic. This will remove Brisbane Valley Highway eastbound traffic from the road adjacent to businesses and in turn will provide a local two-way access to this area which will be accessible from the intersection on the northern side of the overpass. Works are also continuing at the Bayley Road and Brisbane Valley Highway intersection. The new signals will be operational around mid-October 2014 and may require night works at the time of implementation. All works mentioned are subject to weather and construction conditions.
