Wars of the Roses and ASOIaF What have we learned so far? -Many Yorks are represented in the Starks -Many Lancasters are represented in the Lannisters -Richard Neville (Warwick the Kingmaker) was used for both Tywin Lannister and Walder Frey. There is at least one other character to come. -The Wars of the Roses was a bloody affair, completely obliterating some houses. -Cousins are not safe -Women play an equally significant role in both history and ASOIAF Women are people too -GRRM You cant write about the Cousins War without writing about the women. - Philippa Gregory -Robert Baratheon was inspired by two very important monarchs, one of which was King Edward IV (a more comprehensive analysis to come) -D and D won some brownie points when referencing a very important assassination in Season 1 of Game of Thrones. -History rocks 5 more character comparisons are complete. Im also working on one catastrophic event and several battles. Thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and a special thanks to Daughter of the Dusk for the morning brainstorming sessions.
