Was This Story Really A Bigfoot Killing? https://youtube/watch?v=kXSKtWZjspw This story, from C.A. Stephens, is supposedly set in an early 1800s lumber camp located somewhere in Maines Great Woods region. The probable location may have been up the West Branch of the Penobscot River, an area well known for its Bigfoot sightings. There are several points in this story that make me wonder what ths creature that was shot really was. Could it have been just a feral human being? Or was it really a younger Sasquatch that was killed as it broke into the camps wangan. The description of the creature says that it was very large, giant in nature. It had a very brown, hairy body, and the hair on the legs was said to be shaggy in appearance. There was a tuft of hair on its head, and this may have been a sagittal crest, in light of the fact that these men would not have been familiar with the appearance of a gorilla in that time period. His face was said to be terrible in appearance. Unlike a regular Bigfoot sighting, this creature had a bear skin around its shoulder, and it had lynx hides wrapped around his feet. So the mystery here is; what was the creature that Stephens described in this story? Was it a wild man of the woods, a feral human? Was this creature a Sasquatch or Bigfoot? Could it be that this creature was really the offspring of a Bigfoot/human relationship? Who knows for sure? The bigger question is where did Stephens get the inspiration for all of the stories he wrote about this wild man of the woods? His stories were written well over a century ago, and yet his descriptions almost seem as though he used todays Bigfoot sighting reports to furnish a description for this character. Did he really make these creatures up, or did he simply retell some of the old logging crew stories about the woods demon that haunted the Great Maine Woods? The search for the answers goes on.
