Was a bit preoccupied yesterday, so I missed that it was the birthday of one of the greatest sporting legends of all time, Michael R. Schumacher. What can be said about him that hasnt been said before? He, along with Senna and Fangio, are probably the 3 greatest F1 drivers in history. He didnt care too much about ruining his career statistics and returned to the sport to help his old friend setup the Mercedes F1 team; the benefits of his years of experience are now being enjoyed by Lewis Hamilton. Hes the reason I grew up knowing the German and Italian national anthems by heart. But perhaps my favorite thing about Michael comes from the final line of the 2002 FIA Season Review film. It was a season that Schumacher dominated. He won 11 races (a world record), won the championship with 6 races to go (a world record) and finished on the podium in every race (a world record). He won his 5th World Championship (a world record) and his 3rd in a row (it wasnt a world record then, but he stretched the streak to 5 titles in a row and that is a world record).
