Was chatting to a taxi driver this afternoon... he is from Ethiopia...in his 50s and he has lived here for 30 years and we talked about his family, he life here and the life he had back home... I asked if his wife was from there too and he said yes, so I asked how they met... He said, I was a late starter when it comes to relationships and everybody was telling me it was time I settle down but I wasnt worried, but then one night I just woke up in the middle of the night and suddenly knew it was time... and then he said, I had a little think about who I would like to marry, what sort of person and personality I could live with and who could live with me, and I thought about all the girls I had ever met and then I remembered this girl that I grew up with, we used to playing the village as kids, I knew she always looked so beautiful to me, so I rang back home and found out where she was And so I say, Well... Well she had emigrated to Toronto, so I rang her from here in Australia... we talked and talked and then I asked if I could call her again and so I did... I then flew over and spent a month with here there, then she spent a month with me here and then we got married and decided to live here, we have an 11 year old son. I asked if he knew when he rang her that he could fall in love with her and he said, I knew she was the kind of women I could fall in love with...we made a commitment and our love took time to grow, but that is why it is falling in love... He asked what I did and then what I spoke about and I shared some of that and he said... Every day we have to watch our thinking and train our minds... anytime I am feeling down about something I look around at our life here in this beautiful country that has welcomed me, I look at our friends, our clothes, our cars and our homes and I feel so grateful and that makes me feel so happy Yes, he said we have to be careful of letting our thoughts run away and take us to a place that makes us unhappy... He sure was an interesting and wise Taxi driver my friend from Ethiopia...sure glad I said, Hello
