Was entertained at a fine evening of early Trinidad music at National Academy for the Performing Arts (UTT @ NAPA) by mixed band of UTT Musicians from here and there. I was reminded of the narrow-mindedness of politicians who conveniently or just ignorantly are unaware of the importance of local music pioneer Lionel Belasco. A couple years ago, the AG, the unenlightened one, driveling on with this nonsense: ...the day you could play a good calypso or chutney on it [a piano] come back and talk to me... This musical evening should be continued and spread. Piano, violin, clarinet all played a part in our musical heritage and should be acknowledged. Maybe I should talk to UTT. Ka-ching!
