Was given 6 less known things about myself: 1. Im a Star Wars fan from way back. It led to my most gruesome injury: after seeing Return of the Jedi in the theaters for the second time, I was inspired to ride my bike, from which I was restricted, like I was riding speeder bikes on the moon of Endor. Long story short, I did an endo over my handlebars and faceplanted on the asphalt. Multiple contusions, bloody face, etc. still carry the scars: one under my nose, one hidden by my eyebrow above my right eye, and one inside my mouth. 2. I carry a scar on my chin due to poor tackling technique in pop warner football. When tackling a much shorter running back, do not allow said running back to helmet butt your chin. Loss of blood ensued. A great doc stitched up the chin, resulting in a straight scar there. 3. Reasons 1& 2 are primarily why I wear a goatee now. 4. I like driving highway 93 between Las Vegas and Phoenix at night in the springtime. Its a fun road to drive. But seeing the sun rise over the hills outside of Wickenburg, seeing the Joshua trees and the spring time flora in bloom early in the morn? Breathtaking. 5. I miss Okinawa. If you would told me that while in high school there, I would have laughed in your face. But the Rock has a way of digging into ones soul. 6. I suspect Ill have similar feelings after I leave Las Vegas, but itll be hard to make me admit them.
