Was in a local camping store, returning the Boxing Bots (like Rockem Sockem robots, but separate, and remote controlled) that we got for my son and his wife as a joke, for Christmas. On the counter were these lanterns. Intrigued, I bought 2 and brought them home to test. After about an hour of charging (I think they were fully charged anyway) I unpacked and lit the lantern in a closed off, dark, room. The light was amazingly bright. I then left it there for 5 hours, to see how long the charge would last (up to 10 hours). First, let me say that these things weigh an ounce, and are the size of the old Sony CD players we had. You inflate them to size with about 5 breaths. Second, the lantern has three positions, and they are all bright enough (get 2 if you need more). Third, there was no discernible loss of light after 5 hours. Fourth, one can read with the light very easily. Fifth, never replace batteries (things like this have a 10 year life, usually). Sixth, well, use your imagination. Many uses for this thing :). I risked nothing because I bought it from a local store that accepted returns. I was intrigued by the item, and will be using it on occasions when I go outdoors, or into my unlit shed. I love this device. Let me know your experience. amazon/MPOWERD-Original-Inflatable-Solar-Lantern/dp/B00DQ1RDWS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420208684&sr=8-1&keywords=luci+solar
