In the same manner, the Supremo led the Filipino rebels against Spanish rule, offered their life to gain freedom even against Jose Rizals will. Rizals main reasoning was that Filipinos were not well prepared logistically and psychologically. Some insulares, peninsulares and ilustrados were divided if we would fight or not. Rizal wanted that majority of Filipinos should be awaken first that we were treated like slaves by Spanish, as portrayed in Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. EDSA I followed, but it failed to pursue the required reforms (social, political, economic, philosophical, and ecological) for our country. Trillanes et al attempted but with selfish motivations. We need another SUPREMO to continue the fight. We have crisis in leadership.
