Was not able to visit most affected places but had divided the areas between Sdr. Terrence A Siambun and myself to reach out where we could. I will also push the Government to take the initiative to setup a Contingency Fund to help those affected during this trying times but not forgetting the immediate implementation of the flood mitigation plans and the action against hill cuttings, unregulated earth works, clogged drains and many other facts contributing to the flood. Even a quick clarification from the Babagon Dam authorities is indeed required to aver any suspicions. During my visits, What I was most impressed with were the spirit and drive by all those affected to undertake the clean up and face up to this reality which has engulfed our Penampang. These are the might of the residents of Penampang. Positiveness in any challenges. Just as they said their prayers are with all and with us in facing this, mine and families prayers are with all too. St. Michaels Secondary and its students were amazing and in their unified spirit to undertake the clean up yesterday. While still feeling sad about this especially since I was unable to visit many of those affected, I am now back for Parliament session and will come back soonest the Session is over during the weekend. My thoughts and prayers are with you all my fellow Penampang. Be safe and God bless all. Darell Leiking
