Was remembering my past 5 years Diwali spent at Karunashraya, A Cancer Hospice Home... A beautiful stone building, a huge pond, green garden and colourful flowers everywhere, a common prayer place for people of all religions, beautiful birds, everything just looks like a dream place. But it is so difficult for anyone who visits Karunashraya to digest the fact that there are many lives with a life threatening illness, Cancer, living their last days of life behind the stone walls… They know that death is too close to them and yet they have been patiently tolerating all the pains and suffering and waiting for a dignified death. Imagine the staff members, the care takers tirelessly working and seeing sad state all the time… Yes!!! Here’s a very rare volunteering opportunity to make your Diwali special by giving some relaxing moments to inmates and their caretakers… Light diyas, burst crackers, spread smiles, dance, sing with joy, share your time and just be there. Please do not miss this opportunity:) Your presence can add more life to the people who are suffering with cancer. Like we been saying again and again, “ We may not be able to add days to their life. But yes, we volunteers can surely add some life to their days”!! We all together can surely give them a little care and happiness. So just don’t think much, plsss confirm your presence right away for event at Karunashraya near Kundanalalli Gate, Maratahalli from 5 pm to 7.00 pm this Saturday i.e. 2nd November!!! Event starts at 5.30 but volunteers can come in early by 4.45 pm to place diyas, speak to inmates and visit the place Thanks and look forward to see many of you!!! Enjoy Volunteering!!! All Volunteers are most welcome to get 5-10 candle diyas to be lighted all across:) BTW hope you are part of Diwali at many other places too (my last status:)) Smiles, Prarthana
