Was scientific tradition of India always been under threat? - TopicsExpress

Was scientific tradition of India always been under threat? Science for us is /was spiritualism, Patronage, Entrepreneurship and protection. While travelling on a voyage from Japan to Chicago in 1893 Jamshedji N. Tata’s idea got ignited by a discussion (suggestion and concept) with Swami Vivekananda on science and leadership ability. Back home he approached H. H. Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV’s patronage and got 400 acres of land in Bangalore and came up Indian Institution of Science (foundation 1911) and first Indian director C V Raman. (Alas, to the politicians of Vivekananda’s home state science means anti Hinduism) 28 Dec 2005 IISc was attacked by terrorist and Prof. Munish Chandra Puri was killed. 2. During 2012/13 one of the scientists went for jogging ( Bangaluru) and never returned nor his dead body found. 3. 31 Dec 1971 Vickram Sarabhai died in mysterious circumstances at Kovalam, Kerala, the night before he was to lay foundation of Thumba RS. 4. Dr Homi J Bhabha died when Air India flight 101 crashed near Mont Blanc on 24 Jan 1966. Now let’s go back to the era of Puranas and Epics of India. Tapasya and Jangna ( research and experimentation) of Rishis ( scientists and philosophers) used to be desecrated and even destroyed by the evil forces ( called Danab ,Rakshas,.etc.) time to time. Except one or two who had ability to protect their ashram (institution and laboratory/observatory) , all Rishis and Munis ( intellectuals / creative thinkers) needed patronage and protection. And so is today. I do not suggest politicians like security for them but our “think tank” must be under coverage of IB and Raw for possible threat estimation before in hand to alert the security forces.
