Was supposed to start the morning off with a pre-listing inspection for a client getting ready to put their house on the market. Got to the house early, as usual, rang the doorbell, and nothing. Knocked and knocked. Nothing. Tried calling. The phone has been disconnected. Total waste of my time. Now comes the fun part. Inevitably that client will call me later with some excuse as to why they forgot or couldnt be there for the inspection this morning. My quandary. That person has taken an inspection slot away from someone else that may likely have needed it to find out what is wrong with their house earlier in their option period. Now this has cost me time and money. Do I charge them when they ask me to reschedule? My frustration is telling me one thing, but it just made me curious. This is such a rare thing to happen that I dont feel the need to put a whole policy in place as a result, but the lack of respect for peoples time is aggravating.
