Was the Supreme Court ruling on Arizona’s voter ID law a crushing loss for the right…or the left?...Judging by the wailings of most conservatives, when the Supreme Court struck down Arizona’s requirement that voters prove US citizenship, it marked the end of America. But legal rulings are often too complicated to understand at a glance. Former federal attorney J. Christian Adams writes at PJMedia that the ruling applies only to the federal voter application form, used by only a small percentage of Arizona voters. The state can and will continue demanding proof of citizenship for the state form. The big issue is that the left wanted the Court to strip the states of all power to verify voter eligibility and force them to use the federal form, which requires no verification other than checking a box. They didn’t, so states can use their own registration forms and demand proof of eligibility. Adams says that was actually a win for the right, and a huge loss for the left. It’s just that neither side seems to have realized it yet. For more of the Huckabee Report visit MikeHuckabee.
