Was today not simply perfect? I ran 5 beautiful miles in this idyllic sun and temperature today with so much gladness in my heart, and gratitude for the moment. At some point, I recognized that everything around is a wide-open, unyielding expanse, ever unfolding before me. The sun was shining on me from all directions-- even through the dense trees from some directions-- and I saw how in this world anything & everything is possible. I am making my own with each step. I felt surrounded by love from all points, and returned that warmth by streaming my own sunlight back into the world. I felt alive, happy and free. Then I went home and ripped the cheese off the top of my kids pizza to devour. Five perfect miles, and so many more to go.
