Was your 3rd Grader Unfairly Targeted During Sate Testing? The Oklahoma Reading Child Sufficiency Act states that it is structured for students, teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure that all are aware and working on any reading issue that would cause the child to not experience success. Teachers must have knowledge and be able to work effectively to give each student the correct intervention and time necessary to read on grade level. Educators assess all K-3 students then target their instruction and intervention according to the needs of each child. Scientifically Based Reading Research espouses that with the correct intervention and enough time, 95% of students will read on grade level. However, with nearly 30% of Oklahoma City district children failing to meet state testing standards, something seems amiss. If you feel that your childs needs were not met within the classroom or that testing protocols were insufficient based upon a disability or other unique situation, we would love to hear from you.
