Washington County has financial assistance available to help residents replace noncompliant septic systems. The Washington County SSTS Low Interest Loan Program utilizes state funds from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to offer loans ranging from 1.5-3%, to replace noncompliant septic systems. The county is partnering with the Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) to administer the program. There is also a small pot of grant funds to assist loan income households in cost sharing part of the cost of replacement, available while funds last.
