Watch and Act Issued For: Nurrabiel, Mockinya Fire Origin: 17KM NE OF BALMORAL Incident Name: ROCKLANDS - REES RD Issued: 06/01/15 4:53 PM This is an Upgraded Watch and Act message issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Nurrabiel, Mockinya. The Rocklands - Rees Road fire, 17KM NE OF BALMORAL bushfire has broken out in the North East section and is travelling in a north easterly direction from the Black Range State park towards Maggies Lane. Spotfires and ember attacks may be occurring ahead of the fire. Private properties north east of the Black Range State park could be impacted any time in the next few hours. Dont wait, leaving now is the safest option - conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency Services may not be able to help you. Travel to; - The home of family or friends that is away from the warning area. - Regional areas such as Horsham Black Range State Park Visitor Information: - North of the Muirfoot Track, including the picnic ground and the rock climbing areas is CLOSED. - South of the Muirfoot Track, and Muirfoot track itself remains open. The next update is expected by 06/01/15 8:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety information: Remember to take your prescriptions and medication, photo ID, bottles of water, your mobile phone and charger and consider what you will do with your pets. When driving, slow down and turn on your headlights; smoke will make it difficult to see. If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
