Watch and Act Issued For: Shady Creek, Trafalgar, Trafalgar East, Willow Grove, Yalungah, Westbury Fire Origin: Westbury Incident Name: Issued: 16/01/14 6:15 PM This is an updated Watch and Act message issue by Country Fire Authority for Shady Creek, Trafalgar, Trafalgar East, Willow Grove, Yalungah, Westbury. The Westbury bushfire is currently not yet under control. Spot fires and ember attacks have been reported at Willow Grove Road (locally known as Seven Mile Road) in the area south of the junction with Old Sale Road and north of the main transmission lines. The fire is could now impact Trafalgar and Trafalgar East areas north of the Princes Freeway, Shady Creek, Yalungah, Willow Grove, Blue rock Lake and Westbury at any time between 7PM and 9PM. Visitors and campers at Blue rock Lake are advised to consider if they need to remain in the area. If you decide to leave Blue rock Lake do not travel via Old Sale Road. Dont wait, leaving now is the safest option - conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency Services may not be able to help you. Travel to; - The home of family or friends that is away from the warning area. - Moe or Morwell town centres. OBriens Road remains closed to traffic. The next update is expected by 16/01/14 9:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety information: Remember to take your prescriptions and medication, photo ID, bottles of water, your mobile phone and charger and consider what you will do with your pets. When driving, slow down and turn on your headlights; smoke will make it difficult to see. If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
