The Marquee was the most painful as I virtually lived in there in the late 70s. CBGBs is a scandal too... whichever local politician let that place close needs to be named and shamed. Does New York not want to be a mecca for rock n roll? The Glasgow Apollo, Edinburgh Picturehouse, Newcastle Mayflower, Hammersmith Palais (namechecked by Paul Gray in his Hit Or Miss song) and loads more memorable venues around the world are gone forever so although Ive never played here - as far as Im concerned the rot has to stop - with the Hippodrome hopefully being saved.
