Watch the first 5 minutes of this NASA video (1hr 15min 14sec) report on how the use of weak gravitational lensing (viewing distortions of distant galaxies) is allowing astrophysicists to measure the dark sector (95% of the unseen universe that consists (theoretically) of dark matter and dark energy). They begin with a description of the Euclid probe (named after the Greek mathematician for whom basic geometry is branded). Within the first 15min, the concepts of gravitational lensing (and the distortions that end up supporting the dark matter theory) have been explained with three easy to understand examples. An explanation that dark matter is immune to collisions follows that. (But I suggest the ridiculous possibility that the dark matter actually bounced rather than passed through itself.) At just before 24min, dark energy is explained, again with examples. https://youtube/watch?v=rxQ4ClYMrdg attention: Temple R Ohl
