Watched a show about Mary Magdalene... A while back, the Church - TopicsExpress

Watched a show about Mary Magdalene... A while back, the Church took penitent from after her name...and admitted that she had been wronged. The Book of Mary Magdalene was authentically dated to be written about 200 A.D., which would have made hers even older than some of those that were chosen by men to be included in the Bible. And, throughout the tedious task of transcribing the Bible, it has been discovered that many references to Mary Magdalene in the other books of the Bible were altered and omitted, to portray this Mary as a sinner (wink). Apparently, Mary was a pretty common name back in those days. And even Mary, from whom Jesus cast the demons, was not Mary Magdalene. It seems that scripture scholars, now, have a very different description of her. Turns out, she was Jesus favorite Apostle. And, according to the archaeological historians, Mary quite clearly qualified to be an apostle of Christ. In some of the omitted scripture, there is reference to Jesus spending one on one time with Mary that he rarely had with the men apostles. And that when the Apostles had questions, they would go to Mary and ask her. But, as the early Church was beginning to institutionalize, and the Bible was first transcribed, it was very much frowned upon that she would be viewed as an equal or to be respected in the story of Our Lord. If this is true, and the evidence is compelling, well...thats just not right, is it?
