Watched first Episode of True Detective on HBO last night and found myself completely engrossed.Hopefully the writing continues to stay consistent on its relatively short run of 8 Episodes,which im actually grateful for.To many shows have a tendency to be dragged out longer then they should be.But the real reason to watch this is because of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson both of whom are excellent here especially McConaughey who I will even go so far to say is brilliant although he has the much more nuanced character.Also watched Prisoners which was OK..I just kept asking myself why the Detective played by Jake Gyllenhaal never once had backup....lol and finally The Place Beyond The Pines (it was a late night) which I wasnt going to watch but was immediately sucked into..A Drama/Thriller played out in 3 Acts. It runs for two hours and twenty minutes and it covers a period of about 17 years.Not flawless but I found it Amazing even though I had the third act pretty much figured out, it still didnt finish in the direction I thought it would.Its not for everyone..I could see a lot of people who might find it to slow....Acting is first rate all around especially by Bradley Cooper....
