Watched this debate at work today. Not going to bore anyone on the content of the arguments. Same old same old. What I did notice and paid close attention to was the style of delivery. One candidate used what I call scare politics trying to scare the public that change is bad even if what we are doing is not working. He also used victim politics (if you vote for the other guy he will victimize you and I am here to save you!). Dont know about you but I already have a savior! I heard no solid plan for growth but instead put down the opponents plan and mischaracterized it at every chance. Mean while the challenger had real ideas and plans. He seemed to want to look at other state models and see what is working so well in the other more successful states. In the end though I have little faith in the public. They refuse to choose leaders that want to solve problems, instead they look for populists that will keep the balance of power as is. My advice start planning an Illinois escape route.
