Watched two movies so far this week. The first was I. Frankenstein. A good adaptation of the graphic novel (nobody calls them comic books anymore). While the character depths, other than Adam the Frankenstein creation, were not fully developed; the story line moved along very well. A nice twist on the somewhat good battling the ultimate evil. Definitely left me hoping for a sequel. The other movie was Pompeii, a star studded epic squeezed into a too short film. Keifer Sutherland acts like a ancient Roman version of Jack Bauer, ruthless and cold. There is only minor development of the characters as the time constraints do not allow it to handle the disaster/gladiator bromance/historical romance/action movie story. It tries too hard to be everything, and ends up only dishing out small pieces. Was pleased to see Sasha Roiz on the big screen again. He is great on his TV roles, especially Captain Renard on Grimm, but doesnt do enough appearances in movies. Both movies were entertaining and worth the time to watch, but I rate I, Frankenstein the better of the two.
