Watching 4 Corners tonight. Some thoughts.... Only Julia Gillard could have pushed through the vast number of pieces of legislation that will make a positive difference to the future of Australia. She managed a minority government that no-one else could have managed. She will be forever seen as the great reformist Prime Minister. Kevin Rudd could never have achieved what she did. I stand by my post a few days ago. It was her place in the political history of our country to be the great reformer, to be the one who pushed through and achieved change that no other person could have achieved. But then, it was also her role to hand over the leadership to the man who, although he had undermined her at every turn, was also the man who could achieve victory over Tony Abbott. She has said herself, we should not punish Labor for this change, we should uphold the Labor cause, we should work towards the common right. That is: Tony Abbott Must NEVER Be Prime Minister. If we achieve that goal, we will have honored her place in history. Thank you Julia. You did what no other could. "Backwards and in high heels."
