Watching Much Ado About Nothing has completely restored my faith in Joss whedon as a film maker. Still yet to see In Your Eyes a film which marks a transformation of the media landscape and the gradual change of how we are using media. Many people say Josss greatest achievement is his recent Hollywood blockbuster The Avengers (of which the next installment is in production). I can say as someone who has closely followed his work since BTVS (Buffy) Joss can reach such an emotional depth, while maintaining screen aesthetics and physical motion. Joss has sold him self short, while watching The Avengers I did notice elements of what I define as Jossy humor, the film focus too much motion rather than emotion which completely deprives transformational arc. While it may be his most financially and commercial successful film. Its his less exposed, lower budget projects like Much Ado that have shaped his career, defining him as a filmmaker. Thank god I got that of my chest !
