Watching TV in the summer heat in our home without air - TopicsExpress

Watching TV in the summer heat in our home without air conditioning - last night there was Halt and Catch Fire, which is getting better but still seems like a mismatch between basic idea and execution. There are cool scenes about minor stuff, and clunky scenes about bigger things. Then came Vicious, a BBC series on PBS starring Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi as a gay couple together 48 years who squabble viciously. Cat didnt like it, but I thoroughly enjoyed the over-the-top crazy of the BBC sitcom style. Finally, we had 24: Live Another Day, which looks to me as though its prepared for the world to end in the next couple of episodes. Dont try to make sense of things, just realize that nobody is to be trusted except Jack Bauer, and everybody makes mistakes, even Jack Bauer, but his mistakes are always forgiven.
