Watching a documentary on Ann Richards, the governor of Texas who - TopicsExpress

Watching a documentary on Ann Richards, the governor of Texas who VERY narrowly lost to George Bush in 1994. In her concession speech, she said This is not the end of the world, this is the end of a campaign. Observing what has happened since Ann said that...Bush went on to a 2 term US Presidency, and oversaw 2 wars costing trillions of dollars and thousand of lives, and were put on the national credit card; passed a massive subsidy to Big Pharma called the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, costing a trillion and counting, and put on the national credit card; handed huge tax cuts to wealthy Americans and corporations, costing hundreds of billions and counting, and put on the the national credit card. Today 50 MILLION Americans live in poverty. I am a COLLEGE PROFESSOR, and I am one of those 50 million because even higher ed has been infected by the greedy takers who believe your tax dollars should line their pockets instead of educate your children. Those who do make enough to survive have seen their wages DECREASE over the last 20 years. The laws and policies implemented by George Bush have caused the greatest wealth gap since just before the Great Depression, with 95% of ALL wealth created by ALL Americans going to just 1% of those Americans. It may not be the end of the world...yet. But keep electing people who have been bought and paid for by the ultra wealthy, and that end is not far away. Here in Texas, Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick, and their GOP cohorts are the ones who have sold their souls. Please get out and vote.
