Watching a matatu tout being roughly manhandled by a NAIROBI CITY COUNCIl ASKARI at khoja as people watch helplessly leaves me wondering whether being a city council askari uplifts you a notch over other mortals.Really, irrespective of the uncouth behavour attributed to touts ,they deserve better treatment as human beings.its by sheer luck that one survives in the streets of nairobi, for its in broad daylight that one loses possesions and dear life either to gun totting robbers, or city council askaris who execute their own justice as they extort for bribes and hand over to police stations whoever doesnt have money to bribe them.Everyone has got a right to be informed of the felony one has committed to warrant such harrashment from askaris if not from robbers.
