Watching a movie a second, or even a third time, can bring new perspective. That is how it happened, tonight, with The Blind Side...the true life story of Mr. Michael Oher. This movie is now my número-uno, best movie ever. Okay, the first scenes, where Joe Thiesmans broken leg is not so exciting...tell that to Joe...but the rest rest is class act. Skip to the end...Sandra Bullock narrates about gang shootings and the death of one young man, on his 21st birthday, and explains how that could have been her son, Michael; but, that it wasnt. Why not? Because the real-life person, Leigh Ann Tuohy, became vulnerable and her family welcomed in to their family, a stranger who did not look like them, speak like them, and his story was not like theirs. What became of Michael? A few years after he signed with the NFL Ravens, he played on a winning Super Bowl team. (Side note: the issue date on Michaels drivers license: 7-17-2004...the date of my wedding and my nephew Austins birthdate...and, during the game against the Lions, the time on the game clock: 7:17......yeah, I noticed).
