Watching music on a video and listening to the same music on a CD/DVD player is not the same. I enjoy listening music on a radio more than from a CD player, and from a CD player more than on the TV or on any video screen. Radio is better because of its random or probabilistic nature as we do not usually know what the nest song will be. It is the deterministic nature of CD player which makes it less enjoyable than radio. When we watch music on video screen we see more than we listen. Music is not to watch rather it is to listen. I observed in Europe and in UL in particular that most plumbers, pipe fitters or other worker while working, always listen to radio. In UK there are so many variety of radio station that everybody has his own favorite station depending on his/her taste. There are stations only for Jazz only, there are exclusively for Blues only, some stations are only for folk music, some for soft music, some for contemporary music, some even for music of 60/70/80s only. Our FM radio stations do not offer such variety. Neither our TV channels offers any variety. They are not innovative enough to look for new ideas. All of them are broadcasting prototype and stereotype programs like news, musical show and talk show because they are cheap. It is the profit mongering mind sets that prevent them from being innovative. We could easily have one channel exclusively for children program, one for news only, one for music only, one for only entertainment, one for only soap operas etc. Instead they all are after the same kind of program and compete. Sick mentality really.
