Watching music videos on my old school iPod while on my flight. Linkin Park was one of Joes, my twin brother, favorite bands. I remember when I introduced him to their first big hit One Step Closer our senior year in high school. Then the Meteora album came out as soon as we returned from our first deployment and that jerk listened to that album 24/7 in his car that I wanted to frisbee the cd right out the car window into a convertible driven by a Westboro Baptist Church member and nail them right between the eyes. The video for Breaking the Habit just reminds me of how he passed, and then I let my imagination roll and picture that being him in the video and our friends growing up together jamming on the rooftop in animation style. Next came on the video for From the Inside came on, and ever since I saw that video when I got older and Joes first son, my nephew Midget Man was born, all I thought of was him as the young kid in the video. I remember showing Joe that video after I was wounded and saying Look! its Midget Man! and he laughed with a big smile. Miss them both :). Now I find myself listening to the whole damn Meteora album as I wait for my ride at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Airport. Joe, if I didnt enjoy my iPod so much, be sure I would nunchuck this through the window of some ISIS supporter and hope they crash their car into a fertilizer truck. Ugh. This weekend I talked about him so much and it was great. Hell, he is the main topic of my part in the Oscar Mike After Action Panels first episode and mental health awareness in todays military. Hes surely missed and Im grateful for my real family that would never shun for mentioning him & puts up with me talking about him on my new so-called battlefield (AKA the OCR Community). Blood maybe thicker than water, but mud will always be the thickest (You guys really dont know how much you mean to me). I hope he realizes his legacy will live on and how his passing is hopefully giving me the strength and tools to give to Veterans help themselves in mental distress. Because the best thing to do with a tragedy is find a triumph through it. An amazing weekend with amazing people with a great mission for our disabled and distressed veterans. Oscar Mike, thank you for having me involved with your family. Oscar Mike On the Move Keep fighting the good fight, comrades :). Were here for you. - E
