Watching my best friend get married yesterday made me reflect on my own marriage of 15 years and these are the things that I know to be true. 1. He did not bat an eyelash when I said we had to leave Friday night for Jersey, despite having worked all week. He just asked how much clean underwear to pack. 2. He did not complain when we had to get up at the crack of dawn for an early wedding that was far. 3. When the waitress brought around lobster salad he leaned over and whispered Do they have chicken nuggets? which caused me to stifle a laugh. 4. In the buffet line he pokes me in the back and whispers for me not to put any shee shee frou frou salad on his plate another moment when I had to stifle a laugh. 5. On the way to the venue, when an aggressive driver gave him the finger, he looks at me and says homeboy better not let this fancy suit fool him cuz Im still from 8th St. I definitely married the right one-the clothes, the address, and the lifestyle may have changed but were always going to be those same two kids from the Wood.
