Watching my partner Anne-Marie Te Whiu in the water yesterday, on - TopicsExpress

Watching my partner Anne-Marie Te Whiu in the water yesterday, on the most perfect of days, and her grief became a solid thing to me. To lose a mother is not something I have faced, and to know someone I love deeply carry such deep loss and then the relief of release in the waves, it made me glad we have oceans. When she tried to throw the ashes of the cliff at Sunshine Beach it just blew back onto the rocks. This was perfect too, it will reach the water in its own time and the tides will do the rest. I could feel her mother up there, in the wind blowing back on itself, such strength. I know I can never cut it as her daughter is the best of both worlds, this one and hers beyond. But I do my best to be here, as I havent always been, and I will stay here from now on. If tears are really griefs silent language, then I am glad the ocean knows how to talk.
