Watching our friend waiting at the bedside of her husband, who had - TopicsExpress

Watching our friend waiting at the bedside of her husband, who had been in a motorcycle accident, I think all of us wives decided to hold our own husbands just a little closer. After being at the hospital and hearing all the doctors’ information, I can’t help but think twice about riding motorcycles. That’s just what you do. But riding motorcycles has been my husband’s passion for many many years. It would do me no good to try to argue the case. He’s going to ride. He was very nice to agree with me on one thing. The next day he rode all day, visiting one hospital and then another. I asked him to text me just so I’d know he was okay after each stop. It seems silly now, but because he loves me he did it. Every single time he texted, I responded with I love you. It seems that every tragedy around us only draws us closer to one another. We often go through life in a surface kind of way, even with the Lord. We’ve been saved, but we want to live life and hope His blessings are with us. We check in occasionally. But when something catastrophic happens, we want Jesus! We want God to be with us. And He is. He is kind and generous with His loving care. When we call, He answers. He always says I love you. He always watches over us. Oh beloved, you may be experiencing your own trouble or catastrophe. You don’t feel you can call on God. You haven’t called on Him in a long time, so why would He want to hear from you now? He’s so ready to come to your aide! He is with you. He has been with you all along. Even if the situation is something you brought on yourself, He’s standing ready to answer you. And if the trouble is beyond your comprehension, God Himself will come and sit with you and help you find peace in the midst of it all. Today would be a wonderful day to make that spiritual connection with the Lover of your soul. Because He is your Savior, He is also your Very Present Help in Time of Need. Now is not the time to wonder if God will hear you. It’s not the time to keep Him at arm’s length because you haven’t talked to Him in a while. God uses all things to work together for our good, and even in catastrophes, He desires a closer walk with His children. God loves you and He’s for you. So today, even if there’s no trouble on the horizon, talk with Him and let Him remind you how much you are loved, how well you are watched over and how willing He is to guide you and keep you all the days of your life. You are blessed to have a Savior Who always listens and always responds, no matter where you are or how long it’s been. Psalm 18:6 But in my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from His sanctuary; my cry to Him reached His ears. Psalm 4:1 Answer me when I call to You, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer. Jonah 2:2 In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and You listened to my cry. Psalm 31:22 In panic I cried out, I am cut off from the LORD! But You heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help. Psalm 22:24 For He has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned His back on them, but has listened to their cries for help.
