Watching the Celebrity Apprentice, it gave my husband a craving for chicken pot pie. Then I remembered that the last time my mom made a pie crust, she used her stand mixer with room temperature ingredients so tonight I decided to give it a try and I saw no difference whatsoever in the flakiness of the crust. Yay! No more lugging out the food processor, cutting up cold butter and crisco or chilling the dough for me! I mixed the dough with room temperature ingredients, rolled it out and used it right away, no chilling along the way. It was beautifully flaky and easy to roll, thanks for the tip Mom!!
