Watching the Ricky Gervais show, Karl Pilkington is bloody brilliant, so spot on with some of his genuine observations though, has to be said. Hes on about doing his DIY, does it slowly, does it right... then its done... abso-bloody-lutely... I think. LOL at his tiling stories... when I was in Oswestry I was the same... damp bathroom, a few tiles started popping off... so I just decided one day, that they had to go. The damp used to get in behind them and freeze and pop them off the wall. Though I never did get to finish them or replace them... never had the money for a start... couldnt exactly work and do that as well, cant be in two places at once. Ahhh well... I obviously think having walked away from it all, the place was a shit hole anyway, not worth the worrying in the end.. Basically once I was down here that was about the last I thought of the damned place... Seriously, wallpaper was actually stapled to the wall in places (LOL)... one strip in the bedroom just had a line of staples on the top half on both sids... I actually chuckled like hell when I saw that... fking funny as hell... short of paste or somthing so just stapled the last bit up or something ? Id never seen such a nightmare at times, but I found it amusing as hell at times... lol, staples... copydex would of been better for that matter, it just made me laugh. It probably needed sealing with a primer or undercoat, possibly PVA might of done before they put the paper on. Im surprised for that matter they didnt try sellotape. lol.
