Watching the aerial manoeuvres of a large flock of overwintering - TopicsExpress

Watching the aerial manoeuvres of a large flock of overwintering Wrybill is unforgettable. P.M. is one of only two places where you can experience this avian spectacle. Credit must go to various groups in the South Island who protect this and other species on the braided river breeding grounds through the summer months. One group is the Ashley-Rakahuri River Care Group. They report that the Wrybill have started breeding and Nick Ledgard found the first 2 egg nest on 21st September. Thanks to Nick and Steve Attwood for the information and these great images. facebook/ashleyrivercare
