Watching the wonderful film The Sound of Music. Released in 1965 when I was 3. I first saw it in 1966 as part of a big screening for children in a hall in Ahmadi, Kuwait. It is part of my lifelong cultural baggage! When I was about 17 living in Kempsey, the Kempsey Singers put the musical on & I was understudy to Maria altho not needed to perform. Instead I was a lady dressed in a tight lace dress in a trio which performed at the big Salzberg concert before the family escape. Such a lot of fun. Im crying thru the whole film cos im moved and enjoying it so much!
