Watching through the wormhole. The question is Is God an Alien Concept? Its pretty good. Its not a hit piece on religion per say. It does explore the possibility that religion can go extinct but for the most part it sticks to the subject. If there are aliens, do they believe in God? One nice thing, they showed a psychological experiment that used jumbled words to break people into two groups -- people who would rearrange them into sentences with spiritual readings and people who rearranged the words into non religious meanings. At the end of the experiment, they had to try to drink as many shots of a nasty tasting orange juice / vinegar concoction as they could. The people who made spiritual sentences were able to endure 2 to 3 times as any shots as the people who were not religious. Say what you will about religion but there has got to be something good about it if it gives you more willpower to handle an unpleasant situation than not having religion. So WTSHTF those of us with faith in God will endure while those who dont will perish. Also one question came to mind. Imagine if you will. An alien ship lands on he Mall. The aliens look nothing like humans at all, maybe they look like lizard men. They too believe in God. Their belief tells them they were made in Gods image just like ours tell is we were. What happens? The first interstellar religious war?
