Watching tonights Parenthood where the grandfather is headed in for open heart and I immediately flashed back to when my dad had it done, while I was in elementary, in Kim Copeland Useltons class. I remember asking her if she thought my dad would die. She informed the front office what was going on and they called the hospital constantly throughout the day for updates. If those of you who are teachers ever question your impact...its way beyond what you may realize.
