Water Melon Mojitos Served in a Water Melon Keg What are festivals without parties and get togethers?? Along with the usual suspects: appetisers, finger food and desserts, a party calls for some fun drinks! At this time of the year, winters haven’t set in and Mumbai is still reeling under intense heat. Out of curiosity, I checked the temperature, the reading showed…35 D (86 F)!! Damn…seriously, is this for real? But alas, I had no time to complain, I had a party to plan, so I quickly rushed to the morning market to buy fresh ingredients for the evening. After the shopping spree was over, my eyes fell to vendor carrying water melons in a cart. The heat was making me crave something fresh and sweet. So, after haggling and bargaining for 10 minutes, I bought myself a beautiful watermelon to beat the heat. On the way back, I was still thinking about what to do with the gorgeous watermelon. Should I just chop it and eat it? Should I make a dessert? Should I use it for finger food? Should I juice it? Oh wait…yes, that’s it…I have a mojito mix at home, why not make Water Melon Mojitos!! The thought of watermelon mojitos brought back the memory of an image I had seen on pinterest a few weeks back, and I immediately googled to search for the image. I was so excited to do this project, that upon reaching home, I didn’t even bother to put on an apron or change by clothes and got down to building the keg. It barely took 15 minutes to finish the task and another 5 minutes to make the mojitos. In the evening, when the guests arrived, the keg turned out to be the star of the evening with everyone wanting to try their hand at operating it! The evening went by with lots of laughter, fun and amusing stories about unique styles of serving drinks.
