Upon arrival, Deputies learned that the subject had been fishing with a friend when he fell down the embankment. The Rural Metro Fire Department, YPG Fire, Yuma Fire Department and BLM responded to the area to assist. The male was located in the Gila Gravity holding on to a tree branch. Emergency personnel hiked down the embankment to the subject and recovered him from the water. The subject was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released. The Yuma Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to stay away from edges of embankments or cliffs. Although it might be the prime fishing area or the best view to snap a quick picture, it may cost you your life.
