Water restriction warning THE eThekwini municipality yesterday urged residents in some suburbs to reduce water consumption over the next four months or face water cuts. The affected areas are Verulam, Grange, Redcliffe, Everest Heights, Waterloo, Trenance, Tongaat, Westbrook, La Mercy, Sea Tides, Hambanati, Emona, Burbreeze and Umdloti. City spokesperson Tozi Mthethwa said the Hazelmere Dam water levels had been dropping since March and had reached a critical 51% level. “To minimise the impact, Umgeni Water has requested level one water restrictions be applied in the Hazelmere supply zone.
