Watercolor study of one of the most amazing painting from J Berkey. The color palette is just so complex. I focused on color temperature, composition & values What I learned : -Cast shadow are very sharp (on the wings), here they are warm because the upper light is cold -Very high contrast with the warm & cold, they are usually alternated in space to emphasize the contrast -Do not hesitate to go very dark or very light for the values (I kept darkening the background and smoke during all the study because I was afraid to go too dark) Im not sure about the color palette because Berkey uses very saturated blues and yellow but they are opposite colors (and it kind of works...)
